Recycle Your Puffin Pellet Bags

Our Puffin wood pellet bags are made from LDPE04 plastic, which can be recycled through suitable soft-plastic recycling schemes.

Rather than transporting used empty bags back to Puffin, we encourage our customers to reuse them where possible and recycle them locally.

How to recycle your pellet bags

Before recycling:

  • Empty the bag completely
  • Make sure it is clean and dry
  • Remove any labels or tape where possible
  • Check whether your local council accepts soft plastics, or take the bags to a participating supermarket soft-plastic collection point

Many larger supermarkets throughout the UK now accept plastic bags, film and wrapping, including LDPE 04, for recycling.

Reuse before you recycle

If your bags are still in good condition, giving them another use first can help keep them useful for longer.

They can be handy for:

  • storing dry household or workshop items
  • protecting items during storage or moving
  • collecting non-sharp materials
  • parcel or packaging protection

Once they are no longer useful, recycle them through your local soft-plastic collection scheme.

Reuse where you can. Recycle locally when you're finished.
